Program Synopsis
Traffic congestion is an ever increasing problem in towns and cities around the world. Thus local government authorities must continually work to maximise the efficiency of their highway networks whilst minimising any disruptions caused by traffic incidents and events. An integrated urban traffic management and control is one of the key strategies to mitigate the impacts of traffic congestion.
This course covers the basic principles of traffic flow and control, capacity and congestion, and includes development of signal control and management.
